In this role, you will serve as an integral part of the UX Department focusing on overall content strategy and information architecture for a number of different projects.

This position is based in our lovely Kansas City, MO office.

Role Description:
UX Strategists at Social Driver work in a fast-paced, highly creative environment. Our work centers around our clients and their needs, whether that be working on Wordpress & Drupal sites, data visualization projects, social campaigns, or client workshops to help strengthen the user's journey. 
As a member of the UX team, you will split your time between client meetings and producing client deliverables. Typical deliverables include sketches, sitemaps, lo-fi wireframes, prototypes, best practice documents, user flows, site audits, content outlines, content migration plans, user surveys, persona development and quality assurance. Senior UX Strategists work closely with other members of the user experience team, as well as the Project Management, Account Management, Creative, SEO/Analytics, and Development teams to ensure the end result is world-class. 
Specifically, you will:

  • Present to clients, working through exercises, and presenting your work and speaking to its merit

  • Live and breathe taxonomies and content architecture. You can take the most disorganized site and make sense of it

  • Bring innovation to content experiences

  • Serve as liaison between teams, bringing issues to the forefront and suggesting opportunities for improvement

  • Use data, analytics, research, and business objectives to inform content

  • Lead in training other team members

  • Write, edit, and think about how content interacts with users, products, and experiences. 

  • Understand how to write copy with a UX-mindset

  • Use clear and concise language instead of wordy prose

  • Present, and rationalize your work as a subject matter expert to stakeholders

  • Understand and speak to the importance of a cohesive brand story across the entire ecosystem of a site or product

  • Use whiteboards, sketch pads, or software to quickly hash out ideas and solutions

  • Conduct research and use your research as your primary tool to defend best practices and help clients find creative solutions to their toughest problems

 

Skills / Requirements:

  • 4-8 years of experience, preferably in an agency setting

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field 

  • Strong written communications and customer service skills

  • Strong Multitasking Skills
  • Experience in client/agency relationships

  • Ability to work independently and with a team 

  • Ability to lead collaboration sessions with various departments and different levels of management

  • Ability to mentor and lead associate-level UX team members

  • Solid problem solving and analytical thinking skills

  • You like to ask questions, listen to answers, and are able to clearly express your opinions in ways that build consensus
  • Exceptional attention to detail

  • Clear understanding of the capabilities and limitations of front-end technologies (HTML, JavaScript, XML, etc.)

  • Working knowledge of content management systems (WordPress and Drupal)

  • Experience with Google Drive

  • High level of experience with web prototyping software, ideally Sketch and InVision

  • High-level knowledge of user-centered design principles

  • Understanding of current trends in the digital space
