In this role, you will work directly with the clients to develop and implement social media strategies and campaigns that will lead them to exceeding their most challenging communications and brand goals. You will be part of a team that works together to build and execute modern communications and marketing campaigns. This is a great opportunity to work in a cross-functional team that includes project and account managers, content and creative specialists, and other digital experts. 

On a daily basis, you will manage and monitor paid/organic social media channels, perform community management activities, identify opportunities for brand engagement, and create social media metrics reports. You will be a trusted advisor to the client and their social media expert on a day-to-day basis. 

This role requires attending and potentially leading in-person meetings with the client team. Like many communications roles, this position requires a flexible work schedule in support of client needs. Some of your responsibilities, including social media monitoring and management, will need to be managed outside of normal business hours. 



Social Media Specialist - Role Description: 

  • Manage and monitor paid/organic social media channels 

  • Perform community management activities and identify opportunities to build engagement

  • Create or refresh documented processes for managing social media channels, working with the client to get approval. This includes creating a bank of pre-approved responses and replies to customers’ social media posts, as well as documenting best practices and guidance for social media channel management

  • Use social media listening and management tool(s) to monitor and respond to online conversations

  • Develop and implement paid social and digital media plans, clearly outlining recommendations on budget, copy, and creative

  • Monitor and optimize social and digital ads on an ongoing basis to ensure top performance that meet the client’s goals

  • Provide social media reports and discuss insights with clients, making strategic recommendations to improve performance

  • Attend and lead in-person meetings with the client bringing innovative tactics and ideas to the team

  • Collaborate with the client, the Social Driver account team, and the client’s PR team on marketing and communications plans 

You will report directly to our Director of Social and Digital Media.



  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required

  • 3-5 years of experience in digital/social media marketing is required

  • Agency or client services experience is preferred 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience developing and executing paid social media strategies is preferred

  • Experience conducting audience research in support of campaign development  

  • Excellent knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram, and other social media best practices (Certification is a plus) 

  • Experience with social media analytics/measurement tools 

  • Experience writing and presenting social media metrics and Google Analytics reports

  • Self-starter with the ambition to lead a high-profile client engagement

  • Team player comfortable working in a multi-team environment (Social Driver, client, and other external agencies) 

  • Critical thinker with problem-solving skills 

  • Exceptional time-management skills 

  • Ability to travel or work outside normal business hours as needed

  • Comfortable leading internal discussions and brainstorms 

  • Up-to-date on current and upcoming social best practices and trends  

  • Ability to problem solve and adjust as need be
