In this role, you will serve as the leader of Social Driver’s project management team and function. This position is based in our downtown Washington, DC office.

Project Management:

Social Driver provides full-service digital agency solutions to our clients ranging across digital marketing, social media management, digital advertising, website design and development, content and video production, and other digital solutions.

As an important part of their team, our clients expect that Social Driver provide world-class service, set clear expectations, communicate professionally, deliver on time, follow up quickly, make next steps easy to understand, and update project plans and task lists as needed. The Project Management Team provides services to support all of these client expectations.

Client projects at Social Driver are delivered as a cross-functional organization. We divide our delivery among multiple teams, each with expert-level focus, including teams focused on sales, social media management, graphic design and video production, content writing, advertising, user experience, and website development. The Project Management Team is responsible for being the bridge that links together clients and these internal delivery teams.

For each client, the Project Management Team works together to serve as the main point of contact, draft project management plans, lead regular check-in calls, schedule and assign tasks to other internal teams, process scopes of work in coordination with sales and finance, report on project statuses and budgets, adjust project plans, and, importantly, ensure that each client has an exceptional customer experience while working with Social Driver.

Role Description:

The Director of Project Management is a hands-on execution role that requires expert-level knowledge of project management and client delivery operations. This role is also a team lead role that requires a passion for growing and mentoring other members of the Project Management Team, fostering a culture of collaboration, coordinating with other teams and leadership at Social Driver, and leading client-facing conversations including kick-off meetings and check-in calls.

Specifically, you will:

  • Serve as a senior project manager on selected projects and oversee/support the other project managers on their assigned projects

  • Provide exceptional customer service so that clients understand their project plans and project status, process incoming requests from clients, and proactively communicate with clients until all tasks are completed

  • Lead and mentor a small team of project managers to build a team-based culture and motivational spirit for the project management practice at Social Driver (we know that project management can be hard and we want to build a culture of win-win support inside this team)

  • Ensure the highest level of quality and ensure that client commitments are met

  • Lead meetings including client kickoffs, project check-in calls, and internal meetings

  • Oversee project management processes and ensure that clients and Social Driver team members understand and follow these processes

  • Track and report on each project status with the goal of on-time and on-budget delivery

  • Use project management tools including Asana, Basecamp, and similar platforms

  • Allocate and assign tasks to the other delivery teams and project managers

  • Oversee the project hand-off between sales and the delivery teams, such as project briefs, scopes of works, and scheduling

  • Lead the contract renewal process for client support contracts and extensions

  • Manage the maintenance and support ticketing system and queue


  • 5+ years of project management experience

  • Agency and/or consulting experience required

  • Team leadership and people management experience required

  • MBA, Masters in Project/Program Management, and/or Project Management Certification (or equivalent) required

  • Strong relationship-building skills, technically-minded and goal-driven

  • Exceptional analytical, communication (both written and spoken), and presentation skills with the ability to operate with energy and flexibility

  • Self-starter with strong time management, organizational skills, and the ability to manage change within a fast-paced environment

  • Experience with spreadsheets, project management software, Slack, G-Suite, and reporting management (Asana experience a plus)
