In this role, you will serve as an integral part of content strategy and information architecture for a number of different projects. This position is based in our downtown Washington, DC office.
UX designers at Social Driver work in a fast-paced, highly creative environment. Our work centers around our clients and their needs whether that be working on Wordpress & Drupal sites, Data Visualization projects, or social campaigns.
We work consultatively with our clients to discover their pain points and goals. The UX team is responsible for guiding our clients to create intentional information architectures and content strategies. We do not build apps or dive deep into UI design - you will spend more time in Google Docs than Sketch. As a member of the UX team, you will split your time between client meetings and producing client deliverables. As a User Experience designer at Social Driver, your creativity will be flexed in content strategy over interface design.
You are comfortable in front of a room full of clients presenting, working through exercises, and presenting your work and speaking to its merit
You like to ask questions, listen to answers, and are able to clearly express your opinions in ways that build consensus
You are not ego driven and you don’t have all of the answers. You will work with the design, strategy, SEO, and development teams to deliver your clients the best solutions
You live and breathe taxonomies and content architecture. You can take the most disorganized site and make sense of it
You are an excellent writer who understands how web copy differs from other copy
You always choose clear and concise language over clever and wordy prose to get an idea across
You act, present and rationalize your work as a subject matter expert to stakeholders
You understand and can speak to the importance of a cohesive brand story across the entire ecosystem of a site or product
You have no problem using whiteboards, sketch pads, or a laptop to quickly hash out ideas and solutions
You love research and use it as your primary tool to defend best practices and help clients find creative solutions to their toughest problems
You are a master multitasker. You are able to work on multiple projects at one time and meet deadlines
Strong written communications and customer service skills
Able to work independently and with a team
Working knowledge of WordPress, Drupal, HTML, and CSS
Experience with G Suite (Google)
Experience with Excel and Word applications
Experience with Sketch and some Adobe (Photoshop/Illustrator)
